Michael arrived from Atlanta so I went to LaGuardia to pick him up--what a totally confusing airport. No clear in and out--so many possibilities but I found Michael and got him to our apt. safe and sound. He went to the little pizza place walking distance from our apt and got some NY pizza and then caught up on some work while we packed and readied our self for the day and our weekend. Christa had an auditon in the city and then after that we were leaving for PA to attend my niece's graduation. We had to walk to the parking garage to get the car and needed to bring some laundry since we don't have a washer and dryer in the apt.
We headed into the city over the Manhattan bridge and made our way to a parking deck on 20th. It was a nice drive with lots of great scenery but I definitely prefer the train.
The deck has elevators for your car--pretty cool but the price was not so great. We walked down to Union Square and saw a very interesting street performer. Not really sure what his talent was other than being very comfortable embarrassing himself.
After a few moments of watching the performer, we were ready for lunch so we headed to Max Brenner's. Michael had already had some pizza so we thought this place would be great since its speciality is chocolate and dessert. I had the chocolate chai, Christa had a chocolate syringe, Ryan had a cookies and creme shake, and Michael had a very good looking ice cream sundae.
Christa and I headed to her audition on 19th and Michael and Ryan took the train to see the new Freedom Tower under construction. Christa was auditioning for a German film called Flora's Lot--it will be filmed here in Hudson Valley but will be shown in Germany so our buddies there will get to see it. :-) After Christa's auditon, we met up with the guys and pushed through a lot of traffic to finally get to the Holland Tunnel.
It took us even longer to get there because after we finally made it out of NY and NJ we hit flash flood rains in PA so we had to drive 35 mph. We finally arrived at our destination, York, PA, at 10 pm for Candace's graduation celebration weekend! It was nice to be with our family especially after such a long journey to get there.
